I'm sitting in the hotel in Amsterdam, near Schipol airport, and try to get my thoughts straightened out. The Netherlands using a different keyboard doesn't really help that much... *smirks*
So, I've been told that I'm a manager now. We were talking about the administration and financial claims of the European project for more diversity in the Emergency Services (for which I'm the responsible person for Germany), and they said "well, let's take Silvia. As a manager, she's getting 300 Euro per day, and..." Erm, really? I'd accept that money, indeed! It's really very confusing. I'm a manager, and a trainer, and a technical, and a researcher. Only for that project. And for our national project for more women in the fire-services, too.
What I want to say? My world has changed a lot. I spent some 300 Euros for hotel and conference, and I'll get it back from the office, but... they expect you to have such a large amount of money ready. I think I'll need a credit card. Before, it was a matter of "do I have five Euros on my cafeteria card to go for a lunch?" *shakes head* I was the youngest of all, the other all had experience in international projects. I mean, yes, I'll manage, even fine, it's only very... different to what I had been used to. Do I make sense? Whatever...
And, on a sidenote, I'm unable to access steelsings from here, as they don't allow cookies or whatever. *pouts* Well. I'm off to the Airport, and back to Frankfurt. I'm gonna deliver a training for firefighters (press-spokesmaen) tomorrow, and have a nice day with my godchild on Sunday. On Monday, it's back to Berlin, and hopefully I'll have full access to the Internet then...
